Jeff McConnell

Jeff McConnell lives in New Jersey, USA, and found “alternative photography” when there was no camera of a kind to make the pictures he imagined. He graduated from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, USA in 2000, and has been exploring photography without lenses ever since. He has given workshops and exhibited work in numerous countries.

Moving away from lenses happened almost by accident, as an experiment – but then, different ways of seeing time were opened, once photography became something other than an “instant click.” Pinhole photography can be about collecting time, or seeing “duration” in a way that our eyes can not. Or, it can create a window between, revealing unnoticed realities. Visual exploration continues, finding new directions!
